BIOGRAPHY
Felix Koskei is State House Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service appointed by President William Ruto in October 2023 to replace Joseph Kinyua who served in the former President Uhuru Kenyatta‘s administration.
He was born in Tinderet Nandi County.
Educational background
Koskei attended Tachasis Primary School, Metetei High School and proceeded with his tertiary education at the University of Nairobi, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Later did his master’s in strategic management.
He also holds other honors from the University of Brunswick in Canada and the University of Botswana.
Career profile of Felix Koskei
He began his career at the Kenya Posts and Telecommunication Corporation, later to the Kenya Civil Aviation in 2007 in the position of a Procurement manager.
Within a span of two years, he began his new role at the Kenya National Highways Authority and was promoted to become the general manager of the Supply Chain and Support Services department.
In the year 2013, he was appointed by the former President Uhuru Kenyatta as the Agriculture Cabinet Secretary but only lasted for a period of two years, then his contract was terminated in response to corruption.
Felix Koskei was accused of issuing illegal permits under the table to sugar importers without doing proper paperwork as per the constitution.
He then made his way back into the government after a span of three years to serve as a member of the Judicial Service Commission – JSC.
Many describe Felix Koskei as Mr. Fix It based on the powers, he wields within President William Ruto’s administration.
The office of the Chief of Staff and Head of The Public Service is responsible for managing operations, coordinating policies and supervising staff.
What’s more, on behalf of the President, the office handles communication with ministries, state departments and agencies regarding the daily operations of the government.
