Mohamed Soud Machele is a Kenyan politician and the Member of Parliament for Mvita Constituency under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
Early life and educational background
Mohamed Soud Machele was born and raised in Mombasa, where he began his formal education at Arya Primary School in 1989.
He completed the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in 1996 and then proceeded to Sacred Heart High School, where he sat the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in 2000.

Professional career
Machele Mohamed Soud began his professional journey at the Kenya Ports Authority in 2002, where he served as a Security Service Officer till 2015.
The role placed him at the heart of one of the country’s most strategic institutions, shaping his familiarity with logistics, compliance and workforce issues around the Port of Mombasa.
In 2015, he moved into the private sector as a director at Momac Transport Company Ltd, an experience he credits with strengthening his managerial and administrative skills.
His work as a director enhanced his management, networking, and problem-solving skills, while positioning him as an entrepreneur with practical insight into both public and private sector dynamics.

He continues to hold this position alongside his legislative duties, balancing constituency service with business leadership.
Political career
Soud made his electoral debut in the August 2022 general election, running on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket for the Mvita parliamentary seat.
He won with 22,611 votes and succeeded Abdulswamad Sheriff Nassir, who had moved on to be elected Governor of Mombasa.
In the National Assembly, Soud serves as a member of the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning, a placement that aligns with his background in logistics and enterprise.
The position primarily places him in the thick of budget debates and tax proposals that dominate the House’s economic agenda.
On constituency development, Soud has prioritised access to education and post-school skills.
In March 2024, his office announced bursaries worth Ksh44 million to more than 5,000 secondary school students, a disbursement made through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund and publicized at the Ronald Ngala Grounds.
Soud has also paired the bursary pipeline with a push to convert the former Mama Ngina Girls’ campus into the Mvita Technical & Vocational College.

In July 2024, he joined lawmakers opposing proposed salary increments for state officers, arguing that fiscal pressures and public sentiment did not support higher pay at the time.
