Said Buya is a Kenyan politician and the sitting Member of Parliament for Galole Constituency in Tana River County.
He was elected under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party and has been serving as the MP since 2017.
Educational Background of Said Buya
He began his education at Kalkalcha Primary School, where he sat his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in 1978.
He proceeded to Hola Secondary School for his O-Level studies, which he completed in 1982.
From 1983 to 1984, he undertook A-Level studies at Tarasaa High School.
In 2002–2003, Buya obtained a Certificate in Information and Programming, broadening his skills in the ICT sector.
He later enrolled at Kenya Methodist University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Counselling Psychology between 2014 and 2017.

Buya’s career started in 1987 as an Untrained Teacher at Daku Harambee School.
In 1988, he joined Kenya Posts and Telecommunications as a Clerk in Finance and Accounts.
By 1992, he had risen to Senior Clerical Officer, continuing in that capacity until the organisation transitioned to Telkom Kenya.
At Telkom, Buya served from 1994 to 2001 as a Senior Clerical Officer, and from 2007 to 2008, as Senior Executive Officer in the Office of the Managing Director.
He ventured into politics and was elected as the Member of Parliament for Galole in 2017 and re-elected in 2022.
Said Buya serves on the Committee on Environment, Forestry and Mining in the National Assembly.
Buya is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Tana River Muslim Union, a position he has held since 2017, engaging in religious and community leadership.
