William Kisang Kipkemoi is the current Senator for Elgeyo Marakwet County. He won the seat on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party in a by-election held in early 2023 after the previous senator, Kipchumba Murkomen, was appointed as a cabinet secretary.
Kisang previously served as the Member of Parliament for Marakwet West Constituency from 2013 to 2023.

William Kisang Kipkemoi attended Chepkum Primary School from 1973 to 1981.
He then joined Chebara Boys Secondary School, where he sat for his O-Level (Kenya Certificate of Education) examinations, and later attended St. Patrick’s High School, Iten, for his A-Levels in 1986–1987.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Statistics after his undergraduate studies at the Kenyatta University between 1991 and 1993.
Later, in 2006, he completed a Master of Business Administration (Information Technology) at the University of Nairobi.
He also obtained a Diploma in Computer Science from the National Computing Centre in the UK.
Career Background
Kisang’s early career included a stint as an Accountant in the Nairobi City Council between 1991 and 1992, and another as Assistant Chief System Analyst at the National Cereals and Produce Board from 1992 to 1995.
Later, he moved into the private sector as Business Director at Fourtell-eAfrica, where he worked from 1995 until 2013.
He was introduced to the national political scene in 2013 after his election as a Member of Parliament for Marakwet West Constituency. He served as MP from 2013 through 2022.
During his time in Parliament, he was appointed Chair of the Departmental Committee on Communication, Information & Innovation.

In a by-election held on January 5, 2023, Kisang was elected Senator for Elgeyo-Marakwet County, running on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket. He was sworn in on January 19, 2023.
