The United Kingdom (UK) pledged to supply 100,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of the current financial year in April 2026, after a Russian Airfield was attacked.
The announcement comes just days after Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) carried out Operation Spiderweb, in which 117 drones were smuggled into Russian territory.
UK to Support Ukraine After Russian Airfield Strikes
John Healey is set to announce increased support for Ukraine at a meeting in Brussels with 50 countries, co-hosted by Germany, on Wednesday, 4, 2025.
Ahead of the event, Healey stated that the United Kingdom will send hundreds of thousands more drones this year and has achieved a significant milestone in delivering essential artillery ammunition to Ukraine.
“We are learning lessons every day from the battlefield in Ukraine, which British companies are using to develop advanced new drones to help protect Ukraine’s civilians and also strengthen our national security,” Healey said.

US and Russia Face Off
Tensions publicly heated up between the United States and Russia over the escalating conflict in Ukraine, following US President Donald Trump’s warning that President Vladimir Putin was “playing with fire.”
The online clash that began on May 28, 2025, coincided with Russia deploying 50,000 troops near a strategic region in Ukraine.
“What Vladimir Putin doesn’t understand is that if it weren’t for me, many terrible things would have already happened in Russia, and I mean really bad. He’s playing with fire,” President Donald Trump said in a Truth Social post.

Further, in response, Dmitry Medvedev, Russia’s top security official and former president, dismissed Trump’s criticism within Russia.
“Regarding Trump’s words about Putin ‘playing with fire’ and ‘really bad things’ happening to Russia. I only know of one really bad thing: WWIII. I hope Trump understands this!” Medvedev wrote in English on X.
