Director Trevor Takes Over Mungai Eve’s Channels and Renames Them

Media personality Director Trevor has confirmed the rebranding of Mungai Eve’s YouTube Channel and Facebook page to Kenya Online Media (KOM).

In a statement shared on, Monday, February 19, Trevor shared screenshots showing new icons of the two platforms changed from the well-known Mungai Eve to KOM.

“Are you ready?” Director Trevor posted a story on his Instagram while quoting screenshots showing the new logos.

Further, in his interactions with fans following his account, Trevor answered several questions including one asking whether he would still be working with Eve who was widely known as the face of their YouTube channel.

In his response, Trevor confirmed that Eve would no longer be part of the YouTube’s cast. 

“No! Her services are no longer needed,” he stated.

According to him, the YouTube account formerly known as Mungai Eve had 745,000 subscribers, while a Facebook page under the same name had 874,000 followers. 

In his earlier post, Trevor announced that he would drop an official announcement on Tuesday, February 20- leaving his fans guessing about what exactly the announcement would address.

The rise and of fall of Director Trevor and Mungai Eve

The duo had gained fame in Kenya’s showbiz space, establishing their brand as one of the most followed YouTube accounts in the country.

Eve would interview celebrated Kenyans including artists, actors, and other figures in entertainment space. Her zeal as the face behind the account she reportedly co-managed with the boyfriend was hard not to notice as manifested in the tremendous growth the account registered.

Their journey together started back in 2020 when they embarked on an endeavor to pursue success as YouTubers. Eve has in her past interviews confirmed that the idea to do YouTube content proposed by Trevor coming at a time most people were still grappling with the effects of Covid-19 pandemic.

Eve, who is a trained journalist at the Nairobi Institute of Business Studies (NIBS) would then become a frequent face on YouTube, attracting fans over the years with her content mostly on hot topics including gossip and news touching on celebrities.

Together, Eve and Trevor were known as a power couple which had proven the possibility of reaping big from content creation. But their love story took a different twist in early January 2024, when rumors about their imminent separation broke.
