General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, son of Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni, has warned the perpetrators of the recent attack on the Kenyatta family farm on the outskirts of Nairobi.
Referring to former president Uhuru Kenyatta as his “big brother,” Muhoozi has vowed to send in Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) troops to deal with the “hooligans” responsible for the attack. As a general in the UPDF, Muhoozi holds the highest rank in the army and has a history of commenting controversially on Kenyan affairs.
My big brother's farm was attacked by hooligans the other day. We will send UPDF to protect him. We will beat those hooligans to pulp! pic.twitter.com/45cMykmGS3

ADVERT
The attack on the Kenyatta family farm occurred on March 27, 2023, during anti-government protests led by Azimio leader Raila Odinga. Hundreds of youths descended on the farm, destroying property, stealing thousands of sheep and goats, and setting it ablaze. While police have yet to make any arrests, Muhoozi’s threat of retaliation could raise fresh scrutiny by President William Ruto’s administration.

Furthermore, Muhoozi has recently announced his bid for Uganda’s presidency in the 2026 elections and has been actively campaigning throughout the country. His latest comments could also indicate tensions between the current and former Kenyan presidents, as President Ruto and his allies have accused Kenyatta of funding the Azimio rallies and protests while not paying taxes.
