An aspiring Kenyan journalist user handle, @mutuabrian, on Twitter has duped the famous KOT into giving him 20k Twitter followers after posting a fake screenshot which he alleged was from the 44th President of the United States, Barrack Obama.
Brian faked a tweet suggesting that Mr Obama would offer him a job if he gained 20k followers on his account. “One of my press team members has informed me about the writing prowess of this upcoming journalist from Kenya. Get his Twitter page to 20,000 followers today, and I will assign him a role as my personal assistant. I love Kenya, hakuna matata” read the tweet.
Brian went on and captioned the fake tweet, “We’re international guys! Never thought itawahi happen maze. Msiniangushe my people,” he captioned.

Some users believed and sent him congratulatory messages on his next seemingly interesting and luxurious venture, retweeting it to help him hit the mark. The doubting Thomas’s, however, rushed to Barracks handle to confirm the tweet and returned disappointed, as there was no trace of such a thing!
His gimmick seemingly worked, the masses followed him, and he now boasts 24k followers! His actions have elicited mixed reactions among his followers, with others lauding him for his “fake it till you make it” approach while the majority called him out for clout chasing and conmanship.
