Bishop Ben Muthee Kiengei has broken his silence on the escalating Kaluma family saga, warning that CCTV footage could be released on the alleged KSh17 million fundraising controversy.
In a detailed statement dated August 17, Bishop Ben denied claims of handling donations raised for the Kaluma family.
He also challenged accusations about the management of funds and the construction in Chaka, Nyeri County.
The statement issued by the bishop follows allegations raised during a TikTok Live session by MC Chris Kirubi Junior, an online critic in the matter, who is said to be targeting the bishop’s reputation.
In his statement, Bishop Ben has warned that CCTV footage allegedly showing Kaluma Boy’s conduct could be released if what he termed “incitement” against him continues.
According to the Bishop, the CCTV footage from Mofarm apartments will show Kaluma Boy’s behavior and how he has been spending his time in Utawala when he is supposed to be at school.
“Ask Kaluma the last day he was seen in school; he has been all over Utawala, and he knows the videos I can release from Mofarm apartments CCTV are not good and the behaviors he changed into. If the pressure amounts, we will release them to the public; they are inciting against me to see who the boy became,” JCM bishop warned.

Kaluma Boy Funding
According to the Bishop, approximately KSh 2.5 million raised through JCM was deposited directly into the family’s account, while KSh 800,000 in cash was handed to Kaluma Boy and his brother.
“Bishop Ben only hosted TikTokers and Bikers, raised 2.5 million at JCM Church, the money was directly deposited in this family’s account, and the 800k cash was handed to Kaluma Boy and his brother directly. Bishop Ben has never been involved in any direct payment or handling of any money from this family,” the Bishop explained.
Additionally, he challenged critics to identify where the alleged KSh17 million originated from and whose account the money was deposited into.
Bishop Ben on Kaluma Boy’s Supporters
The bishop credited Mofarm JM with playing a significant role in the family’s relocation and housing project.
According to his account, discussions between Mofarm and the family led to the purchase of about one acre of land in Chaka for farming, where he successfully negotiated an additional quarter-plot for the family for free.
The housing project included the construction of a permanent family home and three additional rooms intended for the sons.
However, during construction, the family’s resources were allegedly depleted, and the Bishop personally contributed KSh 500,000 to finish the works, including gypsum installation and window glazing.
The JCM bishop also outlined what he described as extensive support provided to the family beyond housing.
He explained that the family’s father was admitted to Jumuia Hospital Huruma for approximately two months at a cost approaching KSh1 million, and that a therapist continued to assist with rehabilitation.
According to the statement, a further KSh 60,000 was recently sent through his personal assistant to support therapy services.
Bishop Ben also claimed that, through Wanja Nyarari, he helped secure a university scholarship for Kaluma Boy and funded clothing and personal items worth about KSh 367,000.

Dispute over the Family’s Future
A major point of contention in Bishop’s statement is an alleged disagreement within the family over the Chaka property.
The bishop claimed that Mama Kaluma wants the house project halted, the land sold, and construction funds refunded so the family can return to Othaya, while Kaluma’s sister supports completing the house and retaining the farm.
The situation has raised questions about who is making decisions for the family and whether the family agrees on the project’s future, with the bishop asking why the family would seek to leave Chaka when the home is reportedly over 98 percent complete and connected to electricity.
