The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has listed 21 commercial free-to-air television licensees facing license revocation, alongside voluntary license surrenders and fresh applications across the telecommunications, broadcasting and courier sectors.
In a Gazette Notice dated October 9, the regulator stated that the revocations would take effect within seven days of publication, after which the affected stations would cease operations, and their assigned resources would revert to the Authority.
“NOTICE is given pursuant to the provisions of the Kenya Information and Communications Act that the Communications Authority of Kenya shall revoke the postal licenses of the following service providers within seven (7) days from the date of this Gazette Notice,” CA Director-General and Chief Executive Officer David Mugonyi stated.

Self-Termination Requests for Broadcast Licenses
CA has also confirmed that it has received and accepted requests from operators surrendering their commercial free-to-air FM broadcasting licenses
Landmerc Limited surrendered its license for the Tandaza FM station.
Further, Moreplex TV Kenya, operated by Moreplex Television Limited, surrendered three authorizations, including a terrestrial subscription broadcasting license, SMS services and landing rights.
CA Opens 30-Day Window for License Objections
The regulator has invited members of the public to submit representations or objections concerning applications for new licenses and renewals.
The notice provides a 30-day period for submissions under the Kenya Information and Communications Act, covering telecommunications, broadcasting and postal and courier services.
“Representation and/or objection must be filed on or before expiry of thirty (30) days from the date of publication of this notice and a copy of the same be forwarded to the applicant,” part of the notice read.
Among the applicants seeking micro-network and service provider licenses are Craftel Network Limited in Kerugoya, Crestnet Technologies Limited in Wang’uru, Lana Links Limited in Nairobi, Tidak Networks Limited in Ruiru and Target Source Enterprises Limited in Ndaragwa.
Other applicants in this category include Jap Technology System Limited, Turboglobe Solutions Limited, Mikinet Network Limited and Flaps Solutions Limited.
Six companies have applied for Network Facilities Provider Tier 3 licenses: Fahari Net Limited, Giga Fiber Internet Limited, Alif Fiber Limited, Astercom Limited, Wingunest Group Limited and Joima Solutions Limited.
At Tier 2 level, Afrinet Communications Limited has submitted a new application, while Wananchi Telecom Limited is seeking renewal of its license.

Broadcasters and Courier Operators Seeking Renewal
The Standard Group PLC, which operates KTN TV, is seeking renewal of a commercial free-to-air television license.
Meanwhile, Miyuma International Limited, associated with Miyuma TV, has submitted a new application for a commercial free-to-air television license.
The regulator’s notice further identifies applicants in the national postal and courier category, including the Trust God Investment Limited of Nyahururu, Kapsowar Shuttle SACCO Limited of Eldoret and Nangkis Matatu Operators SACCO Limited of Nairobi, and New Nairobi-Naivasha United Services Limited.
Ishara Towers License Classification Corrected
CA has also corrected an earlier publication concerning Ishara Towers Kenya Limited.
The corrigendum amends Gazette Notice No. 13938 of 2026 by changing the company’s license classification from Network Facilities Provider Tier 3 (NFP-T3) to Network Facilities Provider Tier 2 (NFP-T2).
