The Kenyan government has warned citizens of scams by agents promising jobs in Canada.
“Disinformation is circulating which suggests that special programs are welcoming Kenyan immigrants. This is false, and the immigration programs referenced do not exist,” the department said in a tweet.
The Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua held talks with the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada Sean Fraser, and agreed on migration opportunities for Kenyans seeking to go and live or work in Canada.

“Currently, Canada has more employment opportunities than available people to work and we agreed that Kenya can help fill that gap. The process for those who wish to go to Canada is simple but requires one to be diligent,” the minister said.
The CS warning comes months after a similar one he issued cautioning citizens against falling victim to job scams after it emerged that rogue agents were luring people with the promise of jobs in southeast Asia then end up trafficking them.
President Ruto during the Labour Day celebrations promised ten new bilateral agreements to help Kenya send more workers to North, Middle America and Europe.
