Dagoretti High School in Nairobi County has been closed indefinitely following an overnight student unrest.
The decision comes after reports of a scuffle on Sunday, September 15, which resulted in the hospitalization of 11 students.
Police officers deployed at the school indicated that the students clashed over a basketball match they were playing.
The clash involved Form One and Form Four students.
However, the disagreement escalated into a religious battle, with the chaos extending into the night.
As a result of the melee, the learners vandalized and damaged properties within the school, as they used sticks and stones to attack each other.
Consequently, the school administration was forced to send the fighting students home, while those injured were admitted to various hospitals.
