Prime Cabinet Secretary (PCS) and Foreign Affairs CS Musalia Mudavadi revealed details of his phone conversation with United Kingdom (UK) Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs David Cameron.
In a statement on Saturday, November 18, Mudavadi said he exchanged views with the former UK Prime Minister on global and regional issues.
“This evening, I held a telephone conversation with David Cameron, Foreign Secretary & Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Both of us emphasized the significance of peace and stability in the region,” said Mudavadi.
Further, the PCS said Cameron commended the Kenyan government for its leadership role in the various peace initiatives in the region and matters climate change.
“He updated me on the developments in the Russia-Ukraine situation which has the potential to ease the pressure on global commodity supply chains,” stated Mudavadi.

Additionally, CS Mudavadi said they reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthen bilateral ties for the mutual benefit of the two nations.
“I congratulated him on his appointment as the new foreign secretary,” added the PCS.
UK Israeli-Palestine Calls
Also, Cameron revealed that he held phone calls with Foreign Ministers from Israeli and Palestine over the ongoing Gaza war.
Taking to his X account, Cameron stated that he talked with Palestine Authority Foreign Minister Dr Riad Malki on Friday, November 17.
“During the call I outlined the work the UK is doing to address the acute humanitarian situation in Gaza. I also emphasized the UK’s support for the Palestinian Authority and a two-state solution,” said Cameron.
On the same day, the UK Foreign Minister spoke to his Israeli counterpart Eli Cohen.

Likewise, Cameron said he shared his condolences for the Israeli civilians killed in Hamas’ brutal October 7th terror attack.
“We discussed the situation in Gaza and the need for humanitarian pauses. We are committed to preventing wider regional instability,” said Cameron.
In addition, Cameron visited Moldova where he met with President Sandu Maia.
He said Moldova is resisting Russian hybrid aggression, offering steadfast support to their neighbors in Ukraine, and building a future in Europe.
