In a statement on February 18, the Murang’a County Government said the governor is receiving treatment after a medical evaluation and has since been advised to suspend physical office duties for one month to facilitate full recovery.
“Following medical assessment, the Governor is currently receiving treatment and has been advised to remain away from physical office engagements for approximately one (1) month to allow for full recovery,” read part of the statement.
The meeting was organized by Nutrition International, a Canadian government-supported organization that partners with Murang’a and other counties to implement key nutrition and public health programmes.
