Apple has unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, featuring a new camera system with variable aperture, the A20 Pro chip, improved battery life, and new artificial intelligence capabilities.
Apple announced the two models on September 9, with pre-orders opening on September 12 and first availability set for September 18 in more than 65 countries and regions.
Where to Buy iPhone 18 Pro in Kenya
Kenyan retailers have already started listing the new models, with iTey Store currently listing the iPhone 18 Pro 256GB at KSh169,999 excluding VAT, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max 256GB is listed at KSh184,999 excluding VAT. Both listings currently show the phones as out of stock.
The retailer says the iPhone 18 Pro is available on back order, subject to its terms, but buyers should confirm availability and the final price before purchasing.
iTey Store lists both the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Its current listings show the devices as out of stock, with the retailer offering reservation or back-order options.
Mobile Hub in Nairobi has also listed the iPhone 18 Pro, and the retailer operates from Sasa Mall on Moi Avenue.

What Is New on the iPhone 18 Pro?
The biggest changes on the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are in the camera, performance, battery, and AI capabilities.
48MP Camera With Variable Aperture
Apple has introduced a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, giving the iPhone physical aperture control for the first time.
The system uses six laser-cut blades that can adjust the aperture to control lighting and depth of field. Apple says the change is designed to improve low-light photography, detail, and creative control.
The new Pro camera system also includes new controls within the Camera app, giving users more ways to customize how they capture photos and videos.
A20 Pro Chip
The iPhone 18 Pro models are powered by Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, built using a 2-nanometre process.
Apple says the chip has a six-core CPU, seven-core GPU and a dual 16-core Neural Engine. It also has 50 percent more memory bandwidth than the previous-generation A19 Pro, while the GPU is designed to deliver up to 40 percent higher performance than the A19 Pro.
The chip is also built to handle advanced on-device AI tasks and improve smartphone photography features.
New AI Features
The iPhone 18 Pro models run iOS 27 and include Apple Intelligence and Siri AI capabilities.
Apple says Siri AI is rolling out as a beta with iOS 27, initially supporting users whose supported devices are set to English, with additional languages planned later. Availability of some AI features varies by region and language.
Longer Battery Life
Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro offers up to 36 hours of video playback, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max reaches up to 45 hours, which Apple describes as the longest battery life on an iPhone.
The company also says the iPhone 18 Pro can charge to 50 percent in around 15 minutes, while wireless charging can reach 50 percent in about 30 minutes.
New Colours and Storage Options
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will be available in black, silver, glacier and burgundy.
Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB.
The Pro models also feature a redesigned Dynamic Island that can display up to three Live Activities at the same time.
When Will iPhone 18 Pro Be Available?
Apple says pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will begin on September 12, 2026, with availability starting September 18 in more than 65 countries and regions.
Apple has also announced availability in another 20 countries and regions from September 25.
For Kenyan buyers, local availability will depend on retailers and distributors bringing the devices into the market.
