Hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta fired a salvo at his Deputy William Ruto for abandoning him, a section of leaders allied to Deputy President have come out guns blazing to defend him against the accusations.
Garissa Township member of Parliament Aden Duale has asked President Kenyatta to “stop lamenting because he personally side-lined his deputy and former jubilee party leaders who helped him win his second term in office’’ .
Speaking moments after attending ELD-UL-FITR prayers at the Sir Ali Muslim grounds in Nairobi, the former National assembly Majority leader said the President had an opportunity to make things right but “he squandered it”
“The President should allow Kenyans to exercise their democratic right by electing the next President who will fix the economy, unite the people and make Kenya great” said Duale.
He claimed that the constitutional changes the President was championing through the building bridges initiative would have adversely affected Kenyans had they gone through.
Duale called on President Kenyatta to facilitate a free, fair, and transparent election as he heads out of office
In Nakuru Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri asked the President to “read the mood of the country and keep off succession politics”

Ngunjiri claimed that “ the country is bitter with the President because of the rising cost of living”
The legislator asked President Kenyatta to tell Kenyans the truth about his fallout with his Deputy claiming that it was Uhuru who pushed Ruto out of government and handed over his responsibilities to Interior CS Fred Matiang’i
On her part, fiery Nakuru Senator Susana Kihika through a twitter post asked the President to “carry his failures with the same energy he used in de-whipping former jubilee party leaders from party and government positions”.
“When you were chest thumping, firing us left, right and centre, assigning duties of your principal assistant to your sycophants you forgot the clock was ticking and the buck stops with you. Now carry your failures with the same energy and stop shouting. Too little too late,” read the post
Speaking on May 1st during 57th the Labour day celebrations at the Nyayo stadium, President Kenyatta accused DP Ruto of abandoning him when he need hem and instead focusing on early campaign
But in a quicker rejoinder through a twitter post D Ruto hit back, accusing uhuru of “giving out his job”
