Drama as 10 Are Left Injured After Fight in Church

Congregants at the Nyabigena Adventist Church in Kisii were involved in a fight leaving over 10 members nursing injuries.

In a video seen by The Kenya Times, two men and two women were seen forcing a woman who is seated to get up while slapping her, showing their aggression as she appears frightened and helpless.

Meanwhile, two men are exchanging blows, with one of them being knocked down and struggling to get back on his feet, while the others continue to throw punches.

Further, as the chaos unfolds, the air is filled with screams and shouts from the congregation, who are rushing to leave the church in a panic. Some members are also seen grabbing chairs and throwing them at each other, adding to the confusion and fear.

At the same time, some members were captured lifting chairs and throwing them at each other, creating a scene of confusion and panic in what was meant to be a peaceful gathering.

Onlookers were later seen rushing to help those who were injured, trying to restore some sense of order amidst the turmoil.

Kenyans Reactions of the Video

The video which has quickly gone viral on social media caught the attention of many Kenyans online, who are sharing messages that show how disappointed they are about what happened.

“When religion becomes a business, fighting becomes inevitable,” a user on X (Twitter) Luqman Makarani commented.

@11_analyst expressed his worries noting that the members actions were against rules and regulations governing the churches.

“I am a Seventh Day Adventist, and I am sad to see this. I pray for peace in that church,” he wrote.

One user pointed out that seeing people fighting in a church is not normal and is “actually disrespectful to God”, as places of worship are meant to be peaceful and holy spaces where everyone comes together to pray and support each other.

The commenter expressed concern that such behavior not only disturbs the spirit of the church but also sets a bad example for the community, showing that conflicts should be resolved with understanding and kindness rather than violence.

“Must be about resources. House of the Lord turned into a haven of thieves,” one of the users commented.

“This is the most shameful exposure by the Church. We have totally lost it can we start looking when the rain stated beating us,” noted another user.
