The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)Twalib Mbarak received backlash after sharing a condolence message on the death of Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) Francis Ogolla.
EACC on its X account shared a condolence message lauding CDF Ogolla for his service.
However, the post was shared with a wrong photo of the CEO, Twalib Mbarak and former CDF General Robert Kibochi, who had visited his office in the past.
Moments later, Kenyans online bashed the CEO for the error in the post, especially at a time when the nation was mourning the death of the celebrated officer.
At the same time, Kenyans have ridiculed the EACC social media handler for posting the photo which was left on until several hours later.

Social Media Manager Ridiculed Over Post
The social media manager was put on the spot, with some questioning their expertise and skills, adding that the person behind the screen had all the time to ensure that they put up the right post.
“24 hours later and we wonder why investigations in corruption cases take forever. Condolence message took them 24hrs to send and still got it wrong,” Peter Wakaba stated on X.
“Probably behind the astonishing error is a cool kid who was hired recently. He or she can’t differentiate between Ogola and Kibochi,” Amwoga Khalwale added.
“Learn from today, always proofread, check again! And check again,” Sageka Willson stated.
Notably, the post was rectified more than 12 hours later with the handler replacing the photo with another of the EACC CEO and the late General Ogolla.

EACC Condolence Message
In the condolence message, EACC indicated that Ogolla joined the military on the same day with the CEO in 1984 and that they had remained close friends throughout the years.
“Having joined the military on the same day as General Ogolla in 1984, who has over the years been a close friend and mentor, I am greatly saddened by his untimely demise. His earned and decorated career was a source of inspiration to many public Officers,’ said Mbarak
Also, he revealed that three weeks before his demise, General Ogolla hosted him, and they discussed official matters.
“On my behalf and that of the entire EACC fraternity, I convey our sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the KDF, the families, friends and relatives of the fallen General, officers and soldiers. May God Almighty comfort the bereaved families and the nation during this difficult period of mourning,” added the commission.
