The Family of Ogolla Mourn Him
General Ogolla’s son, Joel Rabuku Omondi while paying a tribute to his father, asked mourners to be happy because his father was a light-hearted person who would frown at the gloomy faces in the room because of his death.
Instead, he disclosed that the General had consistently prepared the family for his passing, encouraging mourners to celebrate the good life he lived.
“I am seeing very many sad faces but General would just be wondering what people are sad about, especially since he has prepared us for this day for a long time, and you guys should look a bit happier because we as a family are leaning on his faith, on our faith, and that of Jesus Christ which was his cornerstone for everything,” Rabuku said.
On the other hand, his elder brother Canon Hezekiah Oduor disclosed that the general had shown him the exact spot for his burial near his house in Mor village, Siaya County.
The late General Ogolla envisioned a simple ritual burial, where he will be wrapped in sheets, a decision made to alleviate what he described as unnecessary pressure on the family.
