The English Premier League (EPL) is one of the most admired football leagues in the world. Consisting of 20 teams, it is also the most-watched sports league globally, broadcast across 212 territories.
The league features 380 matches each season, with every team playing 38 games, and commands an estimated following of over two billion fans.
At the center of the competition is the coveted Premier League trophy. Currently, the EPL has partnered with Guinness, and as part of this collaboration, a world tour of the Premier League trophy has been organized.
EPL Partners with Guinness for Premier League Trophy World Tour
The global partnership between the Premier League and Guinness was announced in June 2024 for the 2024–2025 season.
In October 2025, Guinness sponsored a trophy tour in Kenya, allowing fans to view and interact with the silverware.

During the visit, President William Ruto received the EPL trophy at State House, Nairobi, on Friday, 24 October 2025.
Arsenal legend Nwankwo Kanu also surprised Kenyan fans by visiting their homes, accompanied by the Premier League trophy.
What to do: Touch the Trophy
In an interview with Citizen TV on October 25, a Guinness official and partners of the Premier League explained what it takes to touch the trophy.
According to the official, one must have played at least five matches in the Premier League and won the title to qualify for the opportunity to touch the trophy.
Each winning club receives 40 winners’ medals, which it distributes among players and staff at its discretion.
Access to the trophy is strictly regulated by the Premier League and event sponsors during official tours, with specific rules governing interactions with the trophy.
For instance, during the October 2025 trophy tour in Kenya, only past and current winners were allowed to touch the trophy, a rule that even President Ruto observed.
About the Trophy
The Premier League trophy is one of the most unique symbols in world football. It features two golden lions atop the handles, representing strength and heritage. When the team captain raises it after a title win, he becomes the third lion, completing the image of victory.

The trophy’s main body is crafted from solid sterling silver, while the golden crown is made from 24-carat silver gilt. Its base, engraved with the names of past champions, is made from malachite, a green semi-precious stone symbolizing the football pitch.
Weighing 25.4 kilograms, the trophy’s base alone accounts for 15.9 kilograms. It stands 104 centimetres tall and 61 centimetres wide, giving it a majestic and commanding presence.
There are two identical Premier League trophies: one stays with the reigning champions, while the other is used for official league events and global tours.
