Kenyan athletes Faith Kipyegon, Beatrice Chebet and Emmanuel Wanyonyi have been nominated for the Athlete of the Year Award.
The voting process shall close on Sunday 27, October at midnight as per the Central European Summer Time (CEST). Further, in a press release by the World Athletics on October 21, they have given a comprehensive list of the nominated athletes as well as outlined how to vote.

“The vote to determine the Track Athlete of the Year finalists is now open on World Athletics social media platforms. It will close on 27 October,” World Athletics announced in a statement.
At the same time, the statement elaborated, “Given the higher number of disciplines on the track, there are six nominees for this category, though – as with the other categories – there will be just two finalists.”

Moreover, the World Athletics affirms that it has been another memorable year for the sport and that the nominations reflect some of the standout performances achieved at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, World Athletics Indoor Championships, one-day meeting circuits and other events around the world.

The nominees list consists of both male and female athletes alphabetically listed starting with the women athletes.

Furthermore, the World Athletics clarified that the nominees for the Field Athlete of the Year awards were announced on October 14. In addition, the nominees for the Out of Stadium Athlete of the Year awards will be announced on October 28.
