The President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president Faith Odhiambo has been named among the 2024 Top 40 Under 40 Women.
Faith has been leading other lawyers in advocating for the safety and rights of Kenyans holding protests across the country.
She has showed up for arrested protestors, fought against the abductions of innocent Kenyans, and spent sleepless nights conducting civic education on the rights of Kenyans as provided by the constitution.
She was elected LSK president on Thursday, February 29 at 38 years old.

Faith Odhiambo’s Journey to Becoming President
In an Interview with Business Daily‘s Winnie Onyando, Faith said that her career journey has been marred by many challenges including failing to get the required grade to join the University of Nairobi, where she dreamt of pursuing her law degree.
“When I finished high school in 2003, I was heartbroken. Despite my best efforts, I scored a B, which did not secure me a spot at the University of Nairobi. It had been my dream university, and I had always wanted to study law,” she said.
Thereafter, she pursued accounting courses, studied French, and earned the Certified Public Secretaries qualification.
However, in 2004, Faith began her law education at Catholic University of Eastern Africa, she then earned a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and an LLM (Hons) in International Commercial Law from the University of Kent, UK.
Today, she is pursuing a PhD at the University of Nairobi, focusing on critical legal issues such as competition, consumer protection, and telecommunications law.
“My recent victory as the 51st President of the LSK marks a significant milestone. As the second female president of the LSK after Raychelle Omamo, my election is a testament to my dedication and commitment to the legal profession. Throughout my career, selfless service has been my guiding principle.”

Rubadiri, Dr Mueni & Okutonyi Listed
2. Also, on the list is 38-year-old CNN International’s Connecting Africa correspondent, Victoria Rubadiri.
“Anything that makes the world a better place. In my case, my major contribution to society was what I did while at NTV, the Victoria’s Lounge show. At the time, very few people had seen a similar show on mainstream Kenyan television.”
3. 20-year-old Tennis player Angella Okutoyi.
She is also a second-year Business Management student at Auburn University in the United States.
“She was the youngest player to represent Kenya at the Billie Jean King Cup after making her debut at the age of 14 in 2018. She was the youngest Kenyan tennis player to win the Kenya Open after dethroning back-to-back champion Shufaa Changawa in 2018.”
4. Dr Mueni Saumu, 39
She treats children with endocrine disorders, a condition that leads to Type 1 diabetes, among other diseases at Chuka Level Five Hospital in Tharaka Nithi County.
“I’m really humbled. I feel blessed to have joined the list of eminent ladies whose work has impacted society.”
5. Peres Jepchirchir, 30
She was recently crowned the women’s marathon record holder after winning the London Marathon in 2:14:04, breaking the earlier record of her compatriot Mary Keitany of 2:17:01.
She is set to defend her title at the Olympic Games in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11, which she admits that it is not an easy task.
“My journey has been a tough one, but I believe this has inspired many young mothers. I want to tell them not to give up but to continue pushing themselves to the limit.”

Other Outstanding women on the list include Ajra Abdullatif Mohamed, Asha Mweru Mbowa, Michelle Watiki, Margaret Nyamumbo, Rachel Wanyoike, Asenath Mwithigah, Caroline Nyaga, Wanja Maina, Eng Maureen Wanjiku Mwaniki, Norah Magero, and Patience Muvea and Dr Janet Karimi.
Nancy Maina, Grace Kitetu Roimen, Anita Chege, Victoria Cherotich, Dr Florence Kang’ethe, Dr. Catherine Gathu, Susan Gatura, 33, Wanjiku Chebet Kanjumba, Elizabeth Nasaka, Muthoni Laibuta, Dr Elizabeth Kagotho and Dr. Jerono Cheserek were named.
Additionally, Mumbi Ndung’u, Dr Catherine Gathu, Catherine Kiama, Amisa Rashid Ahmed, Carolyne Njuguna, Florence Nyole, Angela Waweru, Jillian Ndirangu, Umulqer Adam, Jihan Abass, were on the Top 40 Under 40 list.
