Popularly known as Mengo, George Kinyanjui Ng’ang’a began as a mechanic in Matunda, Kakamega County. He is the owner and the largest shareholder of Climax Coach Transport Company, which serves the western route in Kenya.
Early Life and Education
Kinyanjui’s age and education are not publicly disclosed
He was born and raised in Matunda, Kakamega, and also where he started his mechanic job. He later opened an auto spare shop in Matunda town.

In the late 1990s, he ventured into the matatu business, purchasing a white Peugeot 504 matatu with registration KAJ and named it Ronaldo.
Other matatus included Tisho, Kipembe, Komesha, and Covenant that served the Eldoret–Kitale route.
After the 2008 post-election violence, he sold all his vehicles and opened a supermarket in Matunda market, Kakamega County, called Climax Supermarket.
He later started the Climax Coach, a transport business that was his dream. He also later closed his supermarket.
Currently, the climax coach company is among the largest Kenyan transport companies, with over 100 fleet, serving the western route. Beatrice Kambo is also a minority shareholder in the company.
The Climax Coach Company
The company started by Kinyanjui has grown from a small operation into a fleet of over 100 modern buses, connecting Nairobi with towns in the Western, Nyanza, and Rift Valley regions. The top company routes are Nairobi to Busia, Kisii, Migori, and Kitale.
Climax Coaches operates both passenger and parcel services across the country.

Climax Bus Driver Recounts Collision That Killed Former MP Cyrus Jirongo
Tiras Kamau, the driver of a Climax Coaches bus involved in a head-on collision with a vehicle belonging to former Lugari Member of Parliament (MP) Cyrus Jirongo, has recounted the events leading up to the crash.
Speaking to the media on December 13, Tiras said he was driving from Nairobi to Busia when the accident occurred.
Recounting the sequence of events in the tragic crash, Kamau said the Mercedes-Benz involved was exiting a petrol station and entered the highway without giving way.
“I am Tiras Kamau Githinji, a driver with Climax Coaches. I have worked with the company for eight years,” he said.
“The Mercedes was coming out of a petrol station while I was heading from Nairobi to Busia. The car did not give way when joining the road,” he said.
