Gor Mahia Football Club chairman Ambrose Rachier has refuted claims that freemasonry is a satanic enterprise.
While speaking during an interview with a local media station, the Nairobi-based lawyer criticized the mystery overshadowing the activities of the ‘secret’ organization.
“I think most are talking from a point of view of Christianity, yet masonry is not based on any particular religion,” Rachier stated
Moreover, Rachier while confessing he is a member of the Freemason insisted that the society do not subscribe to any particular religion.
“We have Muslims in freemasonry, Christians, Buddhists and a few atheists, so there is no reference whatsoever to issues of devil worship, whoever the devil is.” He noted.
According to Rachier, the negative attitudes about freemasonry were being peddled by people who have no idea about what the organization is all about.
“I think it is all about ignorance. If you get to the masonic hall, the first thing you get is a citation of King Solomon to God saying: “I shall build you a house and you shall establish your throne forever.” Stated Rachier.
Furthermore, the Gor Mahia Chairman added that anyone who has interacted with freemason would not hesitate to invite a friend or family member to be part of it.
“I have been there since 1994 and I would find it is something good, something that I would want to invite a friend. It is a member’s organization in which someone who knows you very well invites you to join. Our main objective is to engage in charity to help humanity,” He said.
In addition, Rachier acknowledged that the organization boasts a list of powerful members, among them members of the judiciary.
Nevertheless, scholars have defined Freemasonry as the teachings and practices of the fraternal (men-only) order of Free and Accepted Masons.
It is allegedly the largest worldwide secret society—an oath-bound society, often devoted to fellowship, moral discipline, and mutual assistance, that conceals at least some of its rituals, customs, or activities from the public.
Moreover, for several years, the local clergy has viewed freemasonry with a lot of suspicions, claiming it borders on devil worship.
In fact, the Church initiated the formation of the Devil Worship Commission in 1994 to investigate its activities.
