This security measure aims to prevent unauthorized access and maintain the confidentiality of applicant information.
As the selection process unfolds, applicants are reminded of the confidentiality of visa issuance and refusal records, as mandated by the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) Section 222(f).
“These records are utilized solely for the administration of immigration laws, ensuring fairness and transparency in the immigration process,” reads a statement from U.S Department of State.
Looking ahead, selected applicants will proceed through a series of subsequent steps, including confirming their qualifications, submitting necessary documentation, and attending interviews.
“After being selected for the Diversity Visa Program, you need to confirm that you meet the qualifications and submit your immigrant visa and alien registration application along with the necessary supporting documents,”
‘Then, you’ll attend an interview to discuss your application further and prepare thoroughly for it. During the interview, you’ll have the opportunity to provide additional information and answer any questions the immigration officer may have. Finally, you’ll follow up with any additional steps required after the interview,” notes the U.S Department of State.
