Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has broken his silence days after President William Ruto dismissed his entire cabinet.
In an interview on July 14, Moses Kuria expressed regret over his past remarks about Gen Z protesters, whom he had previously labeled as a “generation of Uber and fish fingers.”
Kuria reflected and regrets on his past statements about the younger generation.
“I’ve been calling them the generation of Twitter, Uber, and fish fingers,” he admitted.
“They have proved me wrong. The Uber and fish fingers people have shown me that they can become an important engine of taking this country forward,” Kuria said.

Kuria on Gen Z Protests
Kuria wished to be part of this dynamic generation, highlighting its potential to refocus the nation.
Reflecting on his tenure, Kuria revealed the internal dysfunction within the cabinet, describing it as disjointed and unable to effectively serve the people.

“We had problems even having cabinet committees,” Kuria said, emphasizing the necessity for President Ruto to reform his government.
Kuria further acknowledged that his own dismissal might have been a necessary sacrifice for the country’s betterment.
Loyalty to Ruto
Despite his dismissal, Kuria remains optimistic and supportive of President Ruto’s plan to form a broad-based cabinet that includes members of the opposition.
“This is not something I’m just happy about; it’s something I encourage and am going to actively cultivate,” Kuria said,
As the country awaits the formation of a new cabinet, Kuria’s remarks signal a shift in his perspective, acknowledging the power and influence of the younger generation he once underestimated.
