Jowie – Maribe Murder Case
Former TV anchor Jackie Maribe and her ex-fiancé Joseph Irungu were charged with the murder of late businesswoman Monica Kimani in 2018.
Notably, the trial Judge Grace Nzioka was to deliver the judgment Friday, December 15, but postponed it to January 26, 2024.

While postponing the verdict, the judge told parties that she got crucial exhibits that would help her determine the case, as late as Thursday evening.
Nonetheless, the postponement means Maribe and Jowie will wait longer before they know their fate.
Further, all parties in the case including their families were present at the Milimani Law Courts when the Judge gave the directions.
However, Joseph Irungu had pleaded with the judge to deliver the judgment before the Christmas holiday, arguing that it has been a long and agonizing wait for him and his family.
The lawyer representing Irungu also pleaded with the judge since Christmas and New Year festivities mean nothing to his client who is a Muslim.
Notably, this is the second time the Court has postponed delivering its verdict on the matter.
In October 2023 the judge who was supposed to deliver the judgement following the conclusion of the trial in July, failed to do so. It was said that she was unwell.
