Azimio Principal and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has declared a fresh war against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and President William Ruto.
In a statement, Kalonzo said that after spending hours seated next to the deputy president for the first time, Azimio la Umoja coalition would reject an impeachment motion initiated by the Members of Parliament who were fighting Gachagua.
Instead, he indicated that Azimio la Umoja would initiate a motion to impeach both the DP and his boss William Ruto.
“This is my first time to sit next to Rigathi Gachagua. I admire your ability to fight. To those dishonorable MPs, I say this: if you try to bring an Impeachment Motion against Rigathi Gachagua, Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leadership and Honorable Members will Vote No!
“However, as Azimio and on behalf of the Kenyan people WE WILL bring an IMPEACHMENT MOTION against both William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua,” said Kalonzo.

Kalonzo and Gachagua Attend Same Event
The two leaders attended the consecration of Kameme FM presenter Bishop Ben Kiengei at Jesus Christ Compassion Ministry (JCM) in Ruiru, Kiambu County.
While speaking at the event, Kalonzo said that Gachagua had not committed any wrong warranting impeachment. However, he accused Ruto undermining his deputy’s position.
He also praised the Deputy President for his bravery in standing firm despite opposition and encouraged him to keep fighting for the people of Kenya.
At the same time, in response to Kalonzo, the Deputy President urged Azimio leaders to embrace his call for regional unity, asserting that it was the only way to unite Kenyans.
Gachagua emphasized that he would remain steadfast in his call for unity in the Mt Kenya region, despite ongoing criticism.

Ferdinand Waititu on Impeachment
Speaking at the same event, former Kiambu County governor Ferdinand Waititu expressed his disappointment in the Kenya Kwanza administration, stating that the Mount Kenya region will not support Ruto’s Presidential bid in 2027.
Waititu stated that the Mt Kenya region will not sit and watch as the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is humiliated adding that they will front a presidential candidate to regain political glory in the upcoming 2027 elections.
“In 2027, the region will have its presidential candidate, so that we will have someone to negotiate on our behalf,” Waititu said.
