Kangai ward MCA-elect James Njiru Wambu’s homestead was raided by unknown people on Wednesday, August 31 night.
The raid caused panic in Mwea Constituency, Kirinyaga County.
While speaking after the incident, the shocked MCA-elect reported that he raised alarm after they discovered a huge fire in the cow shed.
Moreover, officers from Kangai police post who arrived at the crime scene found a bottle of diesel.
“Why are they attacking me and I’m not sworn in to serve Kangai people? Njiru asked, saying that he believes it was a planned arson attack.
Nonetheless, the MCA-elect asked the state to provide him with security.
“Everybody in this area is my friend and that’s why they elected me with the UDA party. I’m wondering who wants my life,” Njiru said.
Nevertheless, the MCA-elect and his supporters decided to spend the night outside, fearing another attack.
