The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) is mourning the loss of a reporter who worked in the corporation’s editorial department.
KBC in a statement on March 21 said that Fredrick Parsayo passed away under unclear circumstances at his residence in Kinoo, Kikuyu Constituency, where he was found dead.

The media house noted that the incident was reported to the Kinoo Police Station and the body of the journalist has been moved to the St. Teresa Mortuary.
Parsayo’s family, KBC adds, has been informed of the death of their kin and authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of his death.

“Fredrick sadly left us on Friday, 21st March 2025, under circumstances that are still being investigated, at his home in the Kinoo-Kikuyu Constituency. This unexpected loss has deeply affected us all,” read part of the statement.
KBC said that Parsayo was a cherished member of the editorial team whose absence will be profoundly felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.

The media house further eulogized the journalist as a cherished member of the editorial department whose absence will be felt by everyone who knew and worked alongside him.
“On behalf of the KBC Board of Directors, Management, and all our staff, we extend our sincerest condolences to Fredrick’s family, friends, and all those impacted by his loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.”
According to his profile, Parsayo joined the media house in 2021 immediately after completing his university education at the University of Nairobi (UoN) where he studied for four years since 2018.
He pursued Journalism and Media studies at UoN from 2018 and specialized in broadcast media before he graduated in 2022.

Parsayo’s demise comes nearly a month following the death of former KTN News anchor Njoroge Mwaura.
Known for his eloquence and insightful reporting, Mwaura passed away on February 24 at a Nairobi hospital following complications arising from surgery.
According to family sources, the veteran journalist underwent a medical procedure whose complications ultimately led to his demise.
He was widely recognized for his articulate news presentation and in-depth reporting on key national and international issues.
Mwaura’s tenure at KTN News saw him cover major political and socio-economic stories, earning him respect among peers and audiences alike.
His passing triggered an outpouring of grief from colleagues, friends, and the broader media fraternity.
