The Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) has announced a new tender for lucrative condoms, part of a broader set of tenders for various medical supplies.
“Interested and qualified bidders are invited to obtain further information from the Procurement Director’s office during office hours, Monday to Friday, between 0800hrs and 1700hrs, excluding public holidays,” the announcement reads in part.
“Prospective bidders can download the tender documents from the KEMSA website at http://www.kemsa.go.ke/tenders and the PPIP Portal at tenders.go.ke while electronically obtained tender documents are free of charge,” KEMSA added.
How to Bid
Bidders may submit their bid documents in two ways: by registering them at the Procurement Office or by emailing them to [email protected]. For further clarification or reference to addendums, bidders should refer to the registration form included in the tender document.
KEMSA requires that all pages of the submitted tender documents be serialized and paginated. The bid documents must be deposited in Tender Box No. 2, marked “Global Fund,” located at the reception on the ground floor of KEMSA’s National Supply Chain Centre, Embakasi, Off Airport North Road, Nairobi, on or before October 1, 2024.

Bulky tenders should be handed over to the KEMSA Procurement Director’s office for registration and safekeeping until the tender opening date.
The tender opening will occur immediately after the closure of the tender at the KEMSA Tender Opening Hall, located on the ground floor of the National Supply Chain Centre. This will be done in the presence of bidders or their representatives who wish to attend.
KEMSA has emphasized that any late submissions will be rejected and returned unopened.

A pre-bid conference is scheduled for September 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM, at the KEMSA Tender Opening Hall, Ground Floor, National Supply Chain Centre, Embakasi, Off Airport North Road, Office Block, Nairobi, Kenya.

In addition to the condom tender, KEMSA is also issuing tenders for ARVs for Pediatrics (I and II), ARVs for Adults (I and II), Medicines for Opportunistic Infections (OIs), STI Medicines, Opioid Substitution Therapy, Condom Lubricants, Hepatitis B and C Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs), Shang Ring Devices, Methadone Dispensing Cups, Crag and HIV Rapid Test Kits, Anti-Malaria Medicines, and Malaria Rapid Diagnostic Test Kits.
It should be noted that each tender has a different closing date, so interested bidders should ensure they keep track of the deadlines to avoid missing out on these opportunities.
