Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) has announced various career opportunities for different job groups.
In a notice dated Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the Authority called on qualified and interested candidates to apply.
“Kenya Maritime Authority is a State Corporation whose mandate is to regulate, coordinate and oversee maritime affairs as guided by the Kenya Maritime Authority Act, 2006, the Merchant Shipping Act, 2009 and relevant Maritime International Conventions.
The Authority is seeking to recruit highly competent, proactive and self-driven individuals to fill the following vacant position,” read part of the notice.
According to the notice, the jobs advertised include positions of Senior Maritime Transport Logistics Training Officer (1 post), Senior Ports & Shipping Services Officer (3 posts), and Senior Administration Officer (KMA 6) with one opening.

The Kenya Maritime Authority is also seeking to hire three legal officers that is a Legal Officer (Board Services), a Legal Officer (Legal Services), and a Legal Officer (Maritime Governance) each with one opening.
KMA is also looking to recruit officers in maritime education and search and rescue operations. These include a Surveyor for Nautical Training Standards (1 post), a Surveyor for Engineering Training Standards (1 post), and a Search and Rescue Officer (6 posts).
Other technical roles advertised include Maritime Labour Officer (1 post) and Marine Environment Protection Officer (1 post).

The Authority is also hiring for positions such as Office Administrator (2 posts), ICT Assistant (1 post), Driver (5 posts), Deckhand (2 posts), and Office Assistant (2 posts).

KMA further issued instructions to applicants which include:
- Canvassing in any form or failure to attach any of the stipulated documents will lead to automatic disqualification.
- Successful candidates will be required to submit valid compliance certificates from Kenya Revenue Authority, a registered Credit Reference Bureau, Higher Education Loans Board and a certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
- Successful candidates must adhere to the provisions on Leadership and Integrity as enshrined in Chapter VI of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
