A soldier with a Kenyan origin has been promoted in the United States (US) Army following her efforts in the force.
The Army promoted Caroline Omboto to the Staff Sergeant position following her contributions as a dental specialist.
An elated Omboto expressed her excitement over her new role, thanking people close to her who contributed to the current achievement.
“Promoted and grateful, indeed dreams do come true. Thanks to my amazing team, leadership, mentors and loved ones for your unwavering support. Here’s to new challenges and growth!” she said.

Omboto joined the US army as dental specialist and rose to the rank of sergeant in three years. She served as a dental specialist at the US Army Fort Stewart, Georgia before her promotion.
Ezekiel Mutua Congratulates Caroline Omboto
In a statement on Thursday, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) Ezekiel Mutua congratulated Omboto for her recent fete.
“Congratulations Staff Sergeant Caroline Omboto on your promotion and outstanding service in the US Army. I was truly honoured to attend your promotion ceremony to hear the amazing testimonies of your great work leading to this promotion,” he remarked.
Mutua attended Omboto’s promotion ceremony which was held at the US Army Base in Vicenza City, Italy.
He was in the country leading a team of investors in exploring a collaboration between Kenyan artists and counterparts in Europe.

The New Role Kenyan Caroline Omboto Will Play
According to the Military-Ranks.org, a staff Sergeant is in charge of a squad of 9-10 soldiers. The role of a staff sergeant is to supervise enlisted soldiers and assist commissioned officers.
In an interview on a YouTube channel named Mkenya Marekani (Kenyan in the US), Omboto revealed that she is a mother of three and that she joined the army after having children and getting her Green Card.
Through the same interview, the new staff sergeant disclosed that she participated in the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) recruitment exercise but was not successful.
She is originally from Kitale in Trans Nzoia, Kenya.

After missing the chance to join KDF, Omboto later traveled to the US in February 2012 on an athlete visa and later joined the US army. She is currently on a six-year contract with the US army that ends in 2024.
Furthermore, Omboto is active on the video-based social media platform TikTok with 1.3 million followers. She posts content mostly about her work as a soldier and other aspects, including food and fashion. She is also present on Facebook.
