A section of Kenyans on Saturday, January 11, flooded the email of the Royal house of Netherlands following the announcement that His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Máxima are set to pay a state visit to Kenya.

The Royal House of the Netherlands, in a dispatch on January 7, 2024, revealed that King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will visit Kenya from Tuesday, March 18, to Thursday, March 20.

According to the Royal House, the visit aims to foster new partnerships in various sectors and deepen the existing ties between the two countries.

Following the announcement, whistleblower Nelson Amenya, associated with the JKIA-Adani expose`, shared the relevant contacts and email addresses for Kenyans to “send greetings” to the Royal couple to cancel their visit.

“I’m sure Kenyans would like to send some greetings to His Majesty the King of Netherlands as he plans to visit President William Ruto. See contact details below,” he said.

The Dutch Royal House further revealed that economic missions focusing on sustainable agriculture and water will take place in parallel with the King and Queen’s state visit.

Earlier, the government had invited Dutch companies, financial organizations and knowledge institutions that are active in sustainable agriculture or horticulture, or in the water sector to apply for participation in the economic missions.

During this trade mission, companies are set to learn more about these opportunities and developments in the sustainable agriculture, horticulture and water sector.

Another X (formerly Twitter) user, Mwambili Mwagodi, chimed in, urging Kenyans to email the Ministry of General Affairs of the Netherlands, at [email protected], requesting the cancellation of the Royal State visit to Kenya.

“Please email [email protected] Ministry of General Affairs of the Netherlands government to ask them to cancel the Royal State visit to Kenya,” he stated.

Kenyans have since sent emails to the said email with many urging the royal family to reconsider its decision for the historic State visit.

Majority of the emails expressed frustrations over the current state of the country, highlighting issues such as abductions, police brutality, extrajudicial killings, and rampant corruption.

“I have come across devastating news that His Majesty King Willem-Alexander has been invited by President William Ruto for a State visit to Kenya, and that he has accepted this invitation,” shared Mwambili Mwagodi in his message.

“It is important you cancel this invitation with immediate effect.”

Another user, Kie Julius, shared a screenshot of his email, which read, “Your Majesty King Willem-Alexander, I am writing to you as a concerned Kenyan citizen regarding your planned state visit to our country. While I understand the importance of diplomatic relations, I respectfully urge you to reconsider your itinerary.”

“The current political climate in Kenya is deeply concerning. Our president, William Samoei Ruto, has implemented policies that have negatively impacted many Kenyans.”

Kioni Kinya also sent an email stating, “We appreciate your upcoming visit to our country to help foster our longstanding relationship, but your timing is not right.”

Kelvin Mugera wrote, “I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. As a concerned Kenyan citizen, I feel compelled to address an issue of grave importance regarding your planned visit to Kenya.

“While we greatly value international diplomacy and collaboration, I must urgently advise against this visit due to the alarming and escalating cases of abductions, enforced disappearances, and extrajudicial killings targeting Kenyan youth.”

Meanwhile, a user named Designer Wanyoike asserted, “It saddens us that the great Netherlands would want to praise this government by honoring President Ruto’s invite.

“We humbly beg you to reconsider, cancel the visit, and call out the oppressive regime hurting Kenyans. Your visit not only praises the government to continue torturing Kenyans but also creates a divide between the nations of The Netherlands and Kenya.”
