The National Police Service (NPS) conducted the last nationwide recruitment of police officers in March 2022 while that of the prison officers was held in April 2023.
NPS planned to hold the national recruitment in 2023, but the Ministry of Interior and National Administration in September 2023 rescheduled the planned recruitment to 2024.
Interior CS Kithure Kindiki told Members of Parliament (MPs) that the NPS will conduct the exercise in early 2024 without giving further details.
However, NPS has not yet communicated the actual date of the exercise even after recently flagging a social media post claiming that the police recruitment was to be done in January.
“We wish to inform the public to disregard the fake news circulating on social media platforms regarding the purported recruitment into the NPS in January 2024,” NPS said in an official statement.
Recruitment into the NPS serves as a pivotal gateway for individuals seeking to serve the nation and uphold the pillars of law, order, and security.
It involves sending an application, rigorous selection criteria and commitment to promoting a diverse and skilled workforce.
To participate in the recruitment process, individuals must have the documents listed below and meet the following qualifications.
