KRA Issues Update for Kenyans Filing Tax Return Ahead of Deadline

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has issued a new update on tax return filing as Kenyans rush to beat the June 30 deadline.

In a notice on June 7, KRA said it has extended working hours at its service centres (Tax Service Offices), select Huduma Centres and its contact centre.

KRA explained that the move is meant to allow taxpayers to file their returns before June 30, 2025.

“We have extended our working hours at our Service Centres, select Huduma Centres and Contact Centre to help you beat the 30th of June deadline,” KRA announced in a notice.

KRA service centres will be open between 7 am and 7 pm on weekdays.

The centres will operate from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays but will remain closed on Sundays.

However, the Centres will be open from 9 am and 6 pm on the 28^th and 29^th of June.

Some of the Huduma Centres will open at 7 am and close at 7 pm, while the rest will be operational between 8 am and 5 pm.

All the Huduma Centres will be closed on weekends.

“Remember to file your tax return on or before 30th June, 2025. Log onto itax.kra.go.ke today,” the Authority said.

KRA Contact Centre

The Contact Centre will be open between 7 am and 7 pm from the 7^th to 22^nd June during weekdays.

It will be open from 9 am to 4 pm on Saturdays and from 9 am to 1 pm on Sundays during this period.

However, working hours will change from 23^rd to 27^th June.

Customers will be assisted from 7 am to 10 pm during the weekdays.

On the 28^th and 29^th of June, the Centre will be open from 9 am to 4 pm.

According to KRA, the Contact Centre will be open from 7 am to midnight on June 30 which is the deadline.

Huduma Centres

In the Nairobi region, the select Huduma Centres include GPO Huduma Centre, City Square Huduma Centre, Kibra Huduma Centre, Makadara Huduma Centre and Eastleigh.

In Mombasa, there is the Mombasa Huduma Centre will be open for extended hours while those in Rift Valley region can visit Nakuru Huduma Centre, Kericho Huduma Centre, Eldoret Huduma Centre and Kitale Huduma Centre.

Northern region has Huduma Centre in Meru and Embu.

There are four Huduma Centres in the Central region; Kiambu, Laikipia and Nyeri.

Western region has Huduma Centres in Kisumu, Kakamega and Kisii.
