The Kenya Meteorological Service Authority (KMSA) has listed 25 counties expected to receive rainfall in the next five days as night temperatures in some parts of the country are forecast to fall as low as 6°C.
The five-day weather forecast issued by Kenya Met shows that several parts of the country will experience light to moderate rainfall during the period.
The forecast covers the period from Saturday, September 26, to Wednesday, September 30, with weather conditions varying across the counties.
Some areas will also experience cooler nights, with Nyandarua recording some of the lowest minimum temperatures at 6°C on September 26 and 27.
Samburu is expected to record a minimum of 7°C on September 28.
Kenya Met Forecasts Coast to Experience Scattered Showers
Residents in the Coast region can expect a mixture of sunny conditions and rainfall during the five-day period.
Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River and Lamu are among the counties covered by the forecast.
Mombasa is expected to experience light showers at different times, including during the night, while Kilifi could also receive light rainfall during the forecast period.
Tana River and Lamu will experience changing weather conditions, with rainfall expected on selected days.
Despite the showers, temperatures will remain relatively warm, with several Coast counties recording daytime highs close to 30°C.

Nairobi Set for Morning and Night Showers
Nairobi residents should also prepare for changing weather during the period.
The capital is forecast to receive light rain Monday morning, with showers also expected Sunday and Monday night.
Daytime temperatures will remain between 26°C and 27°C, while night temperatures could fall to between 12°C and 14°C.
This means residents may experience relatively warm afternoons followed by noticeably cooler nights.
Western Kenya to See More Rain
Parts of Western Kenya will receive rainfall at different points during the forecast period.
Kakamega and Bungoma are among the counties expected to receive showers.
Kakamega is forecast to experience light showers on Saturday before moderate showers return on Tuesday.
Bungoma is also expected to receive moderate showers on Tuesday.
The rainfall will come alongside generally warm daytime conditions, with Kakamega expected to reach up to 32°C.
Rift Valley Rains and Temperatures
Weather conditions will vary across the Rift Valley over the next five days, with some counties expected to receive showers while others experience a mix of sunshine and cloudy periods.
West Pokot will record daytime temperatures of between 24°C and 26°C, with nights falling to as low as 12°C.
Trans Nzoia will be slightly warmer, with daytime temperatures reaching 29°C and minimum temperatures dropping to 12°C.
In Uasin Gishu, temperatures will range between 25°C and 26°C during the day, while nights could fall to 10°C.
Kericho is expected to record maximum temperatures between 25°C and 27°C, with minimums falling to 10°C. The county is also forecast to receive moderate showers on Tuesday afternoon.
In Bomet, daytime temperatures will range from 25°C to 27°C, while night temperatures could drop to 10°C.

Central Kenya to Feel the Cold at Night
According to Kenya Met, Central Kenya will experience some of the lowest temperatures in the forecast.
Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a and Kiambu are expected to record relatively cool nights, although daytime temperatures will remain in the mid-20s.
Nyandarua will record the lowest minimum temperatures, dropping to 6°C on Saturday and Sunday.
Samburu is also expected to record a minimum of 7°C on Monday.
The low night temperatures are likely to make early mornings particularly cold in the affected areas.
Eastern Counties to Experience Changing Conditions
In Eastern Kenya, Tharaka-Nithi, Embu, Kitui, Machakos and Makueni will experience varying weather conditions during the forecast period.
The counties will see a combination of sunny periods, cloudy conditions and showers on selected days.
Machakos will remain among the cooler areas at night, with minimum temperatures dropping to about 11°C on Saturday before rising slightly during the rest of the period.
Northern Kenya to Remain Hot
While some parts of the country prepare for rain and cold nights, northern Kenya will continue to experience high daytime temperatures.
Mandera is expected to reach 38°C, while Turkana could also reach 38°C.
Wajir is forecast to reach 35°C, while Tana River could reach up to 33°C.
The contrast means that weather conditions will vary widely across the country, with residents in some counties dealing with rain and cold mornings while others experience intense daytime heat.
