Lynn Ngugi Speaks Out After Campaign to Deplatform Her

Renowned media personality Lynn Ngugi has responded to an alleged campaign that was launched calling for her deplatforming across social media.

In a statement on Saturday, December 7, Ngugi stated that the campaign to cancel her has turned out to be a stepping stone.

The YouTuber shared screenshots of how people were impressed with her work and how they are mobilizing others to subscribe to her channel.

“This is how the campaign to cancel me by our retrogressive tribal king turned out,” she said.

“Say no to tribal fools. It will not work! Haiti did not work, Adani did not work, Housing Levy, SHIF, livestock vaccine, churches, bribes, AU. Nothing. Must go will go,” she added.

In one of the screenshots Lynn Ngugi shared on her page, a user informed her that he had just snooped on someone’s phone in a bus heading to Barrie/Ontario, and the lady was busy watching her channel.

“Lynn, you’re international. Kudos!” the user remarked.

Another user chimed in, “I’m a Kalenjin from Bomet, Lynn. I love what you do, my dear. Three of my family members have just joined your channel thanks to my invite. Keep up the good work, girl. We shall show them who we are in 2027.”

One user shared their thoughts, saying, “Someone recently told me that tribalism is for the poor, the common man, because the rich eat at the same table. That is so true for Kenya. And only Kenyans can change this.”

“I am a Kalenjin, and I love this show. Gone are the days when one could dictate what others should believe or associate with. Politics is never stable, so our personal relationships should stand strong against the tide of politics and politicians,” another user remarked.

“I told 10 people to subscribe today. Lynn, you are a star, our star. No one should think they have the right or ability to bring you down,” another supporter wrote.

Campaign to Deplatform Ngugi

The response comes after a social media tweep Dennis Ouma alleged that “all Kikuyu content creators, led by Lynn Ngugi, are tribal with their content against President Ruto”.

“Lynn Ngugi you are not a saint but a tribal content creator spreading the current hate of Kikuyus against president Ruto,” he said.

He went on to call out President William Ruto’s supporters and other tribes to unfollow and deplatform Ngugi on all her social media platforms, especially YouTube.

“I urge all followers of President Ruto to unfollow Lynn Ngugi on YouTube and all social media platforms,” he wrote.

“All Kalenjins, Luos, Luhyas, Meru, Kenya Somalis, Coast, Kisiis, and Embu must unfollow and deplatform Lynn Ngugi and other Kikuyu content creators like since they hate President Ruto.”
