The Maasai Mara Wildlife Conservancies Association (MMWCA) has announced internship opportunities for recent graduates in various fields.
The program aims to offer a unique chance for graduates with the necessary qualifications to gain hands-on experience in conservation in the Greater Mara Ecosystem.

The Association, in a statement on its social media channels said that it is seeking a team of dedicated interns to join their team for a duration of six months.

The internship program is open to recent graduates with a degree or diploma in various fields, which include:
- Wildlife management
- Natural resource management
- Community development
- Gender studies
- Finance or economics
- Procurement

MMWCA Announces Job Vacancy
In addition to the internship opportunities, the MMWCA is also seeking an Executive Assistant (EA) to support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in maximizing the effective and efficient operation of the CEO’s areas of responsibility.
Responsibilities
The EA will provide professional administrative support and facilitate necessary action, including preparing written and verbal communication, coordinating meetings, diary, calendar, and travel arrangements, drafting correspondence, reports, and summaries.

They are expected to serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on all matters pertaining to the CEO’s office and will act as a confidential executive assistant to the CEO.
Furthermore, the assistant will also assist in the implementation and follow-up on Board decisions and requests as directed by the CEO and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
The EA will provide administrative support to the CEO, which includes:
- Scheduling meetings
- Maintaining and updating the CEO’s daily calendar
- Managing incoming and outgoing phone calls
- Drafting correspondence
- Creating spreadsheets and presentations
- Preparation and reconciliation of credit card and expense report
- Mailing letters and packages
- Establishing and maintaining electronic and paper files
- Copying
- Arranging travel, meetings, hotel accommodation as necessary for the CEO.
The EA will also handle information of a highly confidential and critical nature on a regular basis and ensure materials and reports for signature are accurate and complete.
Additionally, they will also work with the Senior Management Team to coordinate the CEO’s activities and follow up on contacts made by the CEO to cultivate ongoing relationships.
Required Qualifications for the Executive Assistant Role
- A University Degree in Business Administration or related field; Master’s in master’s in business administration an advantage.
- At least five years’ work experience in a reputable conservation organization or
- NGO in a similar or equivalent position.
- Expert level written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple
- tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with the highest level of
- professionalism
- Exceptional reporting & desktop research skills
- Ability to work under pressure with high levels of flexibility
- Emotional maturity and openness to learning and growing
- Strong inter-personal skills
- Excellent knowledge of computer applications.
- A good team player/leader
- Fluency in Maa will be an added advantage

MMWCA is a membership organization of all the Mara conservancies, open to any existing or upcoming wildlife conservancy whose land is part of or integral to the greater Maasai Mara ecosystem.
