Controversial pastor Paul Mackenzie involved in the Shakahola forest tragedy is set to be re-arraigned in court on Friday, June 2 after a month in police custody.
Mackenzie and 17 other suspects are accused of influencing his followers to starve to death to meet Jesus.
Moreover, more than 240 bodies have so far been exhumed. Nonetheless, the prosecution is expected to request more time to complete its investigations even as the exhumation exercise continues.
The High Court had permitted police to continue detaining pastor Mackenzie for a month to complete investigations in his alleged cult activities.

The controversial pastor was arrested alongside his wife and 16 other people in the ongoing investigations on over 240 deaths of people believed to have starved in Shakahola forest.
Furthermore, the prosecutors wanted the suspects detained for 3 months to allow police conclude investigations on their role in the Shakahola religious cult activities.
However, the court said three more weeks were enough.
