Chief Justice Martha Koome and several Cabinet Secretaries have announced fresh appointments and reappointments across key government agencies, boards, and state corporations.
The changes, published in a Gazette Notice dated June 12, 2026, include the re-appointment of members to judicial tribunals, fresh appointments to boards of state agencies and panels, and the de-gazettement of inspectors under the Standards Act.
CJ Martha Koome led the changes within judicial tribunals, re-appointing Winnie Luvuno Tsuma as a member of the National Environment Tribunal for a three-year term effective February 9, 2026.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 172 (1) (b) (i) and (c) of the Constitution and section 47 (2) of the Retirement Benefits Act, the Judicial Service Commission re-appoints— Winnie Luvuna…,” read part of the gazette notice.
CJ Martha Koome also renewed Charles Ongoto’s tenure as Chairperson of the Retirement Benefits Appeals Tribunal for three years, effective from April 21, 2026, while Timothy Kimathi and Anthony Kiprono were re-appointed as members of the tribunal, effective from May 27, 2026.
In the Tax Appeals Tribunal, Spenser Sankale Ololchike, Gloria Awuor Ogaga, Erick Onyango Komolo, Timothy Bunyali Vikiru, Abdullahi Mohamed Diriye, Makau Martin Mutiso James, Eunice Njeri Ng’ang’a and Boniface Kibiy Terer secured another three-year term beginning May 11, 2026.

Separately, the Interior Cabinet Secretary, Kipchumba Murkomen, reappointed Ali Swaleh Nyamai to the Board of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) for a three-year term, effective June 12, 2026.
He also appointed Rev. Simon Maina Kande as a member of the board.
Water Cabinet Secretary Eric Mugaa reappointed Dr. John Kiplelei Kirui as a member of the Board of the Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency for another three years.
On his part, Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir appointed Abdillahi Khamisi Mutwafy to the Board of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) for a three-year term effective June 12, 2026.
Additionally, Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui reappointed Nimo Omar Haji to the National Standards Council for another three years.

CS Kinyanjui also de-gazetted Miriam Kahiro, Rhoda G. Kanyi, Charles Maru, Cyrus Muhoho Wambari and Joseph K. Kilisio as inspectors under the Standards Act.
Co-operatives and MSMEs Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya extended by one year the mandate of the Working Committee overseeing the transition of the Nairobi Coffee Exchange into the framework established under the Capital Markets (Coffee Exchange) Regulations and the Crops (Coffee) (General) Regulations.
Further, Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya appointed Barnaba Korir and Ronald Milare to the Sports and Arts Fund Board for a three-year term.
Meanwhile, East African Community, ASALs and Regional Development Cabinet Secretary Beatrice Askul appointed Rosemary Omuony to the Board of Directors of the Coast Development Authority for one year and re-appointed Gilbert Tenai Bor to the National Drought Management Authority Board for a further three years.

Other Key Appointments
Attorney-General Dorcas Oduor has also appointed Caroline Mbatha Mbai as the Deputy Registrar of Societies and constituted a task force to spearhead the incorporation and institutional transformation of the Public Trustee Department.
The Attorney-General also unveiled a Task Force on the Incorporation and Institutional Transformation of the Public Trustee Department, signalling fresh efforts to reform the institution responsible for the administration of estates and trusts.
The task force will be chaired by Linda M. Murila and will comprise Senior Counsel Rose Mbanya, Evans Obote, Peter Kimaile, Nilfat Kassim Ali, Dr Elijah Ambasa, Areba Omwoyo Samba, Dr Florence Muinde, and Dr Rebecca Lomong.
Naaman Geda and Mohammed Shuriye will serve as joint secretaries to the team.
The establishment of the task force is expected to guide the transition of the Public Trustee Department through legal and institutional reforms aimed at enhancing its efficiency, governance structures and service delivery to Kenyans.
