Mungai KRA Case
In 2021, the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) pursued Mungai over alleged tax evasion amounting to Ksh.2.2 billion.
According to reports, the money was earned from government tenders for supplying boots, uniforms and cereals to some state departments.
Further, KRA alleged that Purma Holdings LTD owned by Mungai and her two daughters earned billions of shillings between 2014 and 2019.
However, in January 2023, the court allowed the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to withdraw the corruption against Mungai and her daughter Purity Njoki.
