All the 800,000 students who sat the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination and planning to join universities and colleges next month will have to receive the COVID-19 jab before being admitted.
Health Principal secretary Susan Mochache said the move is aimed at averting the spread of the virus in the learning institutions.
Mochache said that only 31 per cent of adult Kenyans have been vaccinated translating to some 8.4 million adult Kenyans.
The health ministry has set targets of vaccinating the entire adult population and 50 per cent of the teenage population aged between 15-17 by December 2022
