The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA) has published a list of individuals with unclaimed assets, among them the late Fidel Odinga, son of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
In a gazette notice dated October 16, 2025, the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority stated that it has received claims for unclaimed assets from several individuals acting as administrators of deceased estates or as agents of the original owners.
The Authority further noted that if no objection is lodged at its offices within thirty (30) days from the date of publication, payment will be made to the listed claimants.
“NOTICE is issued pursuant to Regulation 12 of the Unclaimed Financial Assets Regulations, 2016, that the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority has received claims for unclaimed assets from the following persons claiming as administrators of the estates of deceased persons and agents of the original owners,” read the notice.
Fidel Odinga Listed Among Those with Unclaimed Assets
According to the notice, the individual acting as the administrator of the unclaimed assets of the late Fidel Odinga is Lwam Getachew Bekelle, who is his widow. The holder of the assets is Gulf African Bank Limited.

Other individuals with unclaimed assets include Roshan Sultanali Kassam Jinnah, whose administrator is Zinat Mohamed Lalji, with Diamond Trust Bank listed as the holder.
Another individual with unclaimed assets is Michael Mwaura Gatuguta, whose administrator is Esther Nyambura Gatuguta, and the holder is Co-operative Bank of Kenya.

About Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority
The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA) is a Kenyan statutory body established by the Unclaimed Financial Assets Act, 2011, to receive, safeguard, and reunite unclaimed assets with their rightful owners.

About Raila Odinga’s Eldest Child
Fidel Odinga was married to Lwam Getachew Bekele, who is of Eritrean origin, and together they had one child named Allay Raila Odinga. Fidel, the eldest son of veteran politician Raila Odinga, was found dead at his home in Nairobi on January 4, 2015.
The late Fidel Odinga owned a notable portfolio of real estate properties and investment holdings.
In real estate, he owned a home at Tipuana Park, located along Bogani Road in Karen, Nairobi. He also owned a parcel of land in Dalalekutuk, Kajiado County, as well as two pieces of land in Kisumu County — one in Kanyawegi and another in Othany.
In addition to his real estate assets, Fidel Odinga held investments in private firms, including 250 shares in Axum Investments Limited and 250 shares in Ambesa Investments Limited.
