President William Ruto has unveiled the composition of his new Cabinet following the dismissal of the former cabinet on July 11, 2024.
Speaking during his state of the nation address at State House Nairobi on Friday, July 19, Ruto announced the nomination of several individuals who were part of his previous cabinet.
“In my last address to the nation, I undertook to consult abroad spectrum of stakeholders from all sectors in order to constitute abroad based government,” said Ruto.
“I will be forwarding additional names to the National Assembly for vetting prior to appointment based on the understanding of the cabinets essential role in driving the transformational agenda that makes Kenya a better, more just and more prosperous nation for all of us,” he added.
List Of Cabinet Secretaries Making a Comeback
Kipchumba Murkomen has been retained as the Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs Creative Economy and Sports, while Alfred Mutua has also been retained as the Cabinet Secretary in charge of Labor and skills development.
Rebecca Miano who previously served as the Trade & Industry CS before she was sacked effective July 11, 2024, has been nominated to the Ministry of Tourism.

Additionally, Soipan Tuya has been re-nominated to the Ministry of Defense taking over from Adan Duale who has been nominated to Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry.
Former Attorney General Justin Muturi has been nominated to the Ministry of Public Service and Human Capital Development.
First Batch Of Cabinet Nominees
On Friday, July 19, President Ruto submitted the list of first batch of cabinet nominees.
Individuals named then include Prof. Kithure Kindiki who was retained as the CS in the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.
Aden Duale was also reinstated as CS in the Ministry of Defense, he was however transferred on July 23, to the Environment Ministry, while Andrew Muhia Karanja was nominated as CS in the Ministry of Agriculture.

President William Ruto also nominated Alice Wahome back to the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development.
Rabecca Miano was nominated as the Attorney General to replace Justin Muturi. Deborah Mulongo Barasa was nominated the CS for Health and Julius Ogamba was nominated to the Education ministry.
Additionally, Soipan Tuya was nominated as Environmwnt CS, Davis Chirchir was nominated to Roads and transport docket, Margaret Nyambura was nominated to the ICT ministry and Eric Murithi Muga was nominated to the Ministry of Water and sanitation.
