The government, through the ICT Authority, has announced 400 internship opportunities under the Presidential Digital Talent Programme.
In a notice on August 26, 2025, the Authority invited qualified candidates to apply.
“The ICT Authority invites suitable recent university graduates to apply for the Presidential Digital Talent Programme (PDTP) Cohort X Intake. Through this transformative initiative, the Government is seeking young, talented Kenyans with a passion for ICT and Public Service,” read part of the notice.
According to the Authority, successful candidates will undergo a structured 12-month internship programme in both the public and private sectors.
ICT Authority Announces 400 Internship Opportunities
The objective of the programme is to develop and prepare young ICT graduates to take up employment opportunities in ICT and other sectors.
It will also provide participants with valuable workplace experience, expanded knowledge, mentorship, career guidance, and professional networks in the following areas:
- Network & Digital Infrastructure – 150 positions
- Software Development & AI – 100 positions

- Information Security – 50 positions
- Multimedia (Graphic Design) & Digital Marketing – 50 positions
- Data Analytics – 50 positions
Eligibility Requirements for Candidates Who Wish to Apply
Candidates who wish to apply for the program must meet the following criteria:
- Candidates who graduated with First or Upper Second-Class Honours (or equivalent) from a recognized institution within the last two years (from January 2023).
- Applicants awaiting graduation (by December 2025) must provide a stamped and signed recommendation/reference letter from their university indicating the class to be awarded (First or Upper Second-Class Honours).
- Hold a degree in BSc. ICT or Engineering (Electrical & Electronics, Telecommunication, Systems/Software, Computer). Candidates must demonstrate strong knowledge in their area of specialization and may be required to prove technical competencies before the interview.
- Be a Kenyan youth aged 21–29 years and unemployed.
- Must not have undertaken any other government internship programme.
- Be willing and ready to be deployed to any government organization (MCDAs) across the 47 counties on a full-time basis (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).
- Women, persons with disabilities, and graduates from Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) regions are encouraged to apply.

About the Programme
The Presidential Digital Talent Programme (PDTP), also known as DigiTalent, is a Kenyan government initiative aimed at developing high-end ICT skills among recent graduates to enhance the country’s digital economy and public service delivery.
It is a 12-month internship program implemented by the ICT Authority under the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy (MICDE) through a public-private partnership.
The program bridges the gap between industry requirements and the capabilities of the local workforce, aligning with Kenya’s National ICT Master Plan.
