The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a traffic disruption along the Thika–Garissa Highway.
In a notice dated Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the Authority stated that traffic flow along the Thika–Garissa (A3) Road, on the section connecting Bangali and Madogo, has been affected by floods at Tula in various parts between 31 km and 37 km from Bangali Centre.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority wishes to notify the public that traffic flow along the Thika–Garissa (A3) Road on the road linking Bangali and Madogo has been affected by floods at Tula in various sections between 31 km and 37 km from Bangali Centre,” read the notice.
KeNHA Announces Traffic Disruption Along Thika -Garissa Highway
According to the notice, the flooded sections of the road may see water levels rise if the rain continues.
Consequently, all road users and motorists have been advised by KeNHA to exercise patience and caution as water levels subside before continuing their journey.

KeNHA confirmed that its staff are already on-site, monitoring the situation and working to restore safe passage once conditions improve.
The Authority also reminded drivers to contact its toll-free line (0800-211-244) or Customer Care number (0700 423 606) for updates or assistance.
A Section of Bomas-Kiserian Road Closed Temporarily
Earlier, KeNHA announced the extension of the temporary closure of a section of the Bomas–Kiserian (B19) Road due to ongoing roadworks.
In a public notice issued on October 16, 2025, the agency informed motorists and the general public that the road section between Brookhouse/Galleria (Km 0+500) and the Catholic University of Eastern Africa junction (Km 1+000) will remain closed.
The Authority stated that the closure is necessary due to the construction of two box culverts along the affected stretch.

The roadworks began on Monday, October 20, 2025, and are expected to be completed by Monday, December 1, 2025. To ease traffic congestion and provide alternative routes for motorists, KeNHA advised drivers to use the following diversions:
▪ Lang’ata Road – Lang’ata South Road – Kiboko Road – Banda Lane – Magadi Road
▪ Lang’ata Road – Lang’ata South Road – Kiboko Road – Mukoma Road – Magadi Road (near Shell Petrol Station).
Motorists were urged to follow the traffic diversion plan and observe all project road signs. KeNHA also appealed to road users to cooperate with police officers and traffic marshals on-site to manage vehicle flow and ensure safety.
