The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has announced a public auction of 19 unserviceable motor vehicles and assorted obsolete and surplus assets, inviting interested members of the public to participate in the sale.
In a notice on July 7, ODPP stated that the auction is scheduled for July 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at its Nairobi offices.
“The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) invites interested bidders for the sale of unserviceable motor vehicles and obsolete stores on July 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at its Nairobi offices,” read part of the notice.
ODPP Invites Bids for Auction of 19 Vehicles and Surplus Government Assets
The disposal will be conducted in accordance with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015, and the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Regulations, 2020, with Trend Auctioneers appointed to oversee the exercise.
The auction catalogue lists 19 motor vehicles, including Toyota Hilux pickups, Toyota Corolla sedans, Nissan Tiidas, a Nissan X-Trail, a Toyota Hiace van, a Suzuki motorcycle and a Peugeot 504.
The assets are located in Nairobi, Embu, Garissa, Kapenguria, Lodwar, Marsabit, Migori, Siaya, and Tharaka-Nithi.
In addition to the vehicles, the ODPP will auction assorted vehicle spare parts and batteries, office equipment, furniture, tyres and ICT accessories.

How to Bid
Interested bidders must first inspect the vehicles and other assets between July 9 and July 17, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at their respective locations.
To participate in the auction, bidders must:
- Pay a refundable deposit equivalent to 10% of the reserve price for each motor vehicle they wish to bid for.
- Pay a refundable KSh5,000 deposit if bidding for the assorted stores, which will be sold as one lot.
- Deposit the money into the following ODPP account:
- Account Name: REC – Directorate of Public Prosecutions
- Account Number: 1000181605
- Bank: Central Bank of Kenya
- Present proof of payment on the auction day to receive a bidding number.
- Carry a valid National ID, passport, or certificate of incorporation (for companies).

Successful bidders will be required to:
- Pay 25% of the purchase price immediately at the fall of the hammer.
- Clear the remaining balance within seven days.
- Collect purchased vehicles within 14 days after the auction to avoid a KSh2,000 daily storage charge.
The auction will be conducted on an “as is, where is” basis, and all sales are subject to the reserve price.
Prospective buyers are advised to download the auction catalogue from the ODPP website and inspect the assets before placing their bids.
