Government officials boycotted Kiharu Member of Parliament (MP) Ndindi Nyoro’s event where he was set to open an assistant county commissioner’s office in Mjini, Kiharu.
It is reported that the Assistant County Commissioner (ACC), County commissioners, Chiefs and police administration were allegedly ordered to snub the event.

“We now know that they have started to drag Ndindi Nyoro into this. A call came from Nairobi warning the ACCs not to attend this event, and that is wrong. But if they don’t protect him, we will continue standing in support of Ndindi Nyoro,” one politician at the event alleged.
“At that time, they touched people’s lives, and now they have touched the area.”

At the same time, another politician condemned the act and deemed it inappropriate for those who will use the office but skipped the event.
“We, the residents here, are very angry and came here to open the homes, but we found that the owners are not here. We condemn the act of making phone calls,” he said.

The lawmaker who downplayed the absenteeism and went on with the event stated that he always knows one thing that he is nothing without God’s blessing.
“In my heart, I have no words of hatred, malice, or anything to hurt someone’s feelings,” he said.
“If there is something that gives me the confidence to do what is right without minding anything else, it is the knowledge that all the strength in this world comes from God.”
The new block for Administration offices will house the Kiharu ACC office, Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs offices, as well as the offices for chiefs, assistant chiefs, social services, and the Lands Board.
This comes a day after the Kiharu legislator has accused the Kenya Kwanza administration led by President William Ruto of abandoning him.

He remarked that at no time did the President or other top officials speak to him before he was ousted as Chairman of the Budget and Appropriations Committee.
Nyoro said he was not aware of the reason why he was removed as chairperson of the committee.
“No one in the leadership of our coalition from which ever position has ever called me in regard to the position or what I need to change, do better or things that needed to be done differently,” Nyoro said.
He explained that he gets information from the media about the position just like other Kenyans.
“There is no decision maker of our coalition who has ever called me to say anything around this. I read in newspapers the same way you do and that it the truth,” he added.
“The last discussion I had with President Ruto either a chat or a discussion was before October 2024.”
