The Coast Bus Company in Kenya has joined the Buscar Sacco, East Africa.
This is to adhere to a directive by the National Transport Safety Authority (NTSA) that requires a SACCO to have a minimum of 30 vehicles.
Due to its small fleet number of vehicles the long service bus company cannot operate a SACCO on their own.
“Coast Bus has joined the Buscar Sacco. Due to their small fleet number, they can’t have their own sacco like before. NTSA requires a SACCO to have a minimum of 30 vehicles. Before you say Coast Bus is a company, they need to have at least 30 vehicles,” a statement announcing the merger read in part.
